Mosquito vs. Human is supposed to be an iPhone app that either drives mosquitoes or humans away. Whichever you think is more annoying, you can supposedly use Mosquito vs. Human as a repellant. However, even though this app is free, I think that it is one of the most annoying apps that I have ever used.
I do not even think I would use this on my worst enemy, if I had one, because it is so painful to use it. When I first saw this app listed in the App Store, I thought that it would actually be an arcade type game. However, I could not have been more wrong. This is supposed to be a “utilities” type game that helps people in a pinch, but does it really? It seems to me that it does more harm to the user than it would to other people. And, the downside is that the mosquito repellant sound is perhaps effective against mosquitoes, other people, and myself! I cannot stand listening to the ringing sound, so I just exit the app before I lose my mind. The mosquito buzzing sound is also frustrating and annoying, especially since I do not want to have to listen to it myself. This is not only an app that would drive other people away – it would definitely drive me away from my own iPhone.
The app is confusing to use if you did not read the developer’s description on its App Store page first. When I first started to use Mosquito vs. Human, I did not know what to do because I had not read the description on the App Store. However, after I did so, I realized that the black background with the two icons on it is the whole app. I simply had to tap on either the icon with the mosquito or the icon with the person. I did not want to tap either after the first couple of tries because the sounds would linger even if I did not tap the screen. Also, the app seems to not be sensitive to touch. This is a problem especially with an app that depends entirely on the touchscreen function. The icons should also be clearly highlighted when one is selected, so that the user can see which one he or she is using.
All in all, I would not recommend Mosquito vs. Human. If this is supposed to be an app that annoys people, too, then it has also annoyed me.
