iQuarters is a game app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It was created by incredible technologies inc. is free. This app lets you shoot coins into shot glasses, bounce them off objects, do trick shots and even flip them into the air with spring like items. This is something that is different than any other game I have found in the iTunes app store and this does it far better than I would have expected.
When I begin iQuarters I saw that it was a game in which you were trying to get a quarter into a shot glass and almost stopped playing. It isn’t that I don’t see how that could be interesting once, or in real life, but in a video game it seemed as if it was simply going to get really old really quick. I didn’t immediately though instead I tried it a couple of times and discovered that the next level actually made it more difficult and interesting and by the time I had finished that first game I was convinced. This still isn’t the most exciting game anywhere but it is actually a full game rather than simply doing the same thing over and over again.
When you open this app you will begin by having three different glasses, a small shot glass, a normal shot glass and a wine glass. You simply need to put three coins into these, in any way you want. All three could go into the middle glass if that is the easiest. You also get bonus points for not missing multiple times in a row or by putting in harder glasses or trick shots. The object is simply to have the highest score on the level.
The graphics and sound of this app are good for the iPhone with a quite a lot of variety on the different type of levels. You can listen to your own music while using this app.
The controls of this app reasonably good and you don’t want them to feel too perfect as some of the random misses are the most fun part of this type of game.
The greatest weakness of this app is that it is actually pretty short, but I suspect this is a recognition by the makers that even with interesting level design this game isn’t going to be fun for hours.
This app gets three out of five stars because it is short and simple, but a three star game for free is well worth trying.
