Horse Frenzy is a ball rolling game app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It was created by Game Circus LLC and is free though there are in app purchases that they encourage you to get. This app lets you roll a ball up a platform and try to put it into holes to win a horse race. This is something that is unique to find in the iTunes app store and this does it well with a fair amount of options.
There is something powerful about the carnival games that are often overlooked. They are simple games like the coin drop, basketball shots, knocking things over with a baseball, throwing rings over things and of course the ball roll. In this you roll a ball up a inclined plane and try to get it into a hole. This can be done simply for score with a ramp, or in the case of the horse run you can simply try to get them into holes as quickly as possible and it really is simple and fun even on the iPhone or iPod touch.
When you open this app you will begin by going through a short tutorial in which it explains the basic idea. This is very simple but there are a few other things added. Your horses can gain levels and have special abilities. In addition to this though they have energy which regenerates slowly over time and they need to use to enter races. You can feed them to regenerate the energy as well and getting this costs money though you can also get it for winning races and more. You can also buy more horses with the coins you get for winning races and train them as well.
The graphics and sound of this app are good for the iPhone though the room for the horses would be improved it it had more space. You can listen to your own music while using this app.
The controls of this app are good and the ball rolling is fun even though it doesn’t feel all that precise.
The greatest weakness of this app is that by trying to monetize this with in app purchases they have simply slowed it down which makes it a quite a bit less fun and a bit frustrating but it actually lets you play quite a bit without stopping or paying so it is not too bad.
This app gets three out of five stars.
